More Feel Good

US Army Year in Pictures Very nicely done. Cynics will call it propaganda. I think they should shut up and thank the soldiers first.

I had so much to do Saturday and Sunday. What did I get done? Nothing.

I went sled riding with Boy. Both days. At Indian Bowl where my Dad took me when I was younger and where he went when he was much younger. Boy had lots of fun. This year he understands that in order to have the fun, you have to work (carry the sled back up) and accept some discomfort (snow in your mittens).

As soon as he saw the ramp/jump at the bottom of the main hill, he headed straight for it. He goes flying off at near the speed of sound flies 50 feet in the air and lands perfectly. I throw my arms in the air and holler "hooray" or some such nonsense, so he does the same, then climbs back up. (repeat) (often)

The 6, 7 and 8 year olds were not going over the ramp/jump until they overheard me telling one of the parents that Boy is "Four and Fearless".

one child: "He's four!!"
me: "yes"
another: "oh."
still another (looking around): "I think I'll try it."
chorus: "Me too."

He had as much fun watching them go flying as he did flying himself. One of the last slides down, he rolled and face planted. Silence. He gets up and tries to wipe his face with his snow covered mitten. You can figure out that result. (no whining or tears though) I call down to him to come on up and I'll wipe him off. Which he does. He went right down again. Getting back on the horse is not a problem for him I'm happy to report.

So, all in all a very productive weekend. Did I say I got nothing done?
